Steel Commuter and Gravel Bike Preamble is a hard-boiled steel commuter built for comfort, durability, and buffoonery on pavement and gravel. Nothing More is Needed. Nothing Less Will Do. The challenge was thus: Build a serious steel bike and give it only the attributes that matter most. Make it quick and comfortable on pavement, as well as confident and compliant on degraded surfaces. What the Enginerds put forth is Preamble, a pavement and gravel utility worker that proves you don't need to cut corners or clip coupons to make a more affordable steel bike. You just need to keep shit simple. Preamble can run racks and fenders and carry a couple water bottles. Surly was raised on stealing basic cable, after all. Smooth and efficient on asphalt, Preamble's double-butted main triangle provides a resplendent ride feel and withstands abuse from life's inevitable potholes. Make it your own with flat bars, drop bars, a basket, or bags. On the road to steel euphoria, Preamble is the gateway drug. Let facts be submitted to a candid world: - Offered in flat-bar and drop-bar configurations - Easy T-Shirt sizing to fit nearly every rider (XS, S, M, L, XL) - Sloping top tubes on XS and Small frames for improved standover and comfort - To offer the best rider experience for every frame size, XS and S frames get 650b wheelsets while M–XL get 700c - Custom-cast single-position vertical dropout
$649.00
We think by now, most of you get what Straggler is. It’s a madly versatile bike that can be used for most types of riding and riding surfaces. Better still is that you now have the option of 650b wheel size. 650b wheels were popular for a long time many years ago on ‘Constructeur’ style bicycles and we all know how real stuff was back in the day…650b wheels strike a nice balance between the benefits of both 26” and 700c sizes. The smaller wheel allows smaller riders to fit well on smaller frames, produces a stronger wheel, makes fitting big-ass tires easier and are more agile than their larger counterparts. Straggler has disc caliper mounts instead of rim brake studs. It’ll accept rotors up to 160mm. The rear dropouts are unique, too. They’re a partially closed horizontal design that accommodates singlespeed or geared drivetrains. They feature stop screws that thread in from the rear to further secure the wheel and to position the rear wheel for optimal shifting, plus a forward-mounted stop screw on the drive side to keep the wheel from slipping forward under the force of your gargantuan legs. The rear dropouts are spaced 135mm instead of 132.5mm like the Cross-Check simply because there are far more options for disc hubs in this spacing. Straggler 650b has braze-ons for fenders, racks and bottle cages. The geometry is slightly different, with angles and tube lengths very close but not identical to the Cross-Check, but like the Cross-Check it’s ready to take you just about anywhere. It’s a day tripper and a weekender. It’s a ‘rough road’ road bike. It’s a cyclocross bike with no pretense about racing. It’s a utilitarian townie. It’s a light-duty touring bike. It’s an all-weather commuter. And when you get tired of one set up, you can swap parts around and turn it into something else. We think that’s pretty neat.
$649.00
So what is this Straggler anyway? The easy answer is to say that we added disc brakes to a Cross-Check and this is close to accurate. People have asked us to make a disc version of our highly versatile Cross-Check for a long time now and almost everything about the two are very similar. Straggler is slightly different, though. The most obvious difference of course is that the Straggler has disc caliper mounts instead of rim brake studs. Straggler shares all of the Cross-Check’s braze-ons for fenders, racks and bottle cages. Lowside is the bike that gets you across town for a quick rip on singletrack, then over to the bar for a night out. Your BMX Bike All Grown Up Lowside is like the grownup version of the bike you rode when you were a kid and still had hopes and dreams and some semblance of ambition. It's just as happy riding singletrack as it is parked outside your favorite drinking establishment. Lowside is a single speed mountain bike. Singlespeeding has been a part of Surly's DNA since day one when we launched the 1x1 Rat Ride. After a lot of Homie Fall Fests and more feats of strength than we can recall, we decided to discontinue it a couple years back. Lowside picks up right where the 1x1 left off. "Some have dubbed the Lowside the ultimate pub cruiser." - Modern trail standards: dropper post compatibility, 44mm headtube, Gnot-Boost rear spacing, thru-axles - Compatibility with most mountain bike standards makes it the perfect parts bin bike (no rim brakes allowed though) - Spec'd in alternating years with 26 x 3" or 27.5 x 2.8" tires, the Lowside remains capable of running either option

Straggler is a bikepacking-inspired road/gravel bike mostly at home on pavement but ready for trail duty when called. Born on Gravel. Raised on Pavement Straggler is tuned for cross-over exploration on a wide variety of terrain conditions. It's a day-tripper and a weekender. It's a "rough road" road bike, a cyclocross bike with no pretense about racing, a utilitarian townie, a light-duty touring bike and an all-weather commuter. It's a steel gravel bicycle that thrives on the road. Think of it as a "mountain biker's road bike." If you only have room for one bike in your life, Straggler can (and should) be your one and only. Straggler's capabilities go well beyond asphalt. It also lends itself well to light touring setups. We're talking frame bags, seat bags, and "credit card touring" rather than full-blown touring. Straggler also handles our 8- and 24-Pack Racks well, so you have some heavier-duty loading options. - Accommodations for racks and fenders - Forward-exiting horizontal dropouts for singlespeed compatibility and wheelbase adjustability - Clearance for 700c x 41mm tires with fenders!

As the first "plus" bike to hit the market, Krampus changed the way many people approach trail riding. It's shown people the light of how high-volume, large-diameter tires can vastly improve the ride experience. It's also done a bang-up job dispelling the myth that big tires make you slow. Krampus is kind of like the opposite of a mullet: long in the front and short in the rear. With a long toptube and compact chainstays, it takes trail-shredding abilities to the next level. A mullet may be business in the front, party in the back but Krampus makes partying its business. - Modern trail standards: dropper post compatibility, 44mm headtube, Gnot-Boost rear spacing, thru-axles, suspension-corrected fork - Compatibility with most mountain bike standards makes it the perfect parts bin bike (no rim brakes allowed though) - Clearance for 29 x 3" tires
