"The Boone Tune"
What's so special about Boone Mountain Sports' ski-tuning? They’ve spent years, some, generations in back-shops. At Boone Mountain Sports, they tune upwards of 13,000 pairs of skis a year, it is one of their deepest passions. They have been professionally tuning skis for over 37 years. The man himself, Casey Boone, has been tuning for over 50 years, the Brothers Boone (Logan and Riley) grew up huffing wax, tuning skis, fitting boots, it’s in their blood to make people go down hills fast and comfortably. They aren’t brain surgeons, car mechanics, electricians, etc...they’re ski techs, and they’re very passionate about what they do.
All Maintenance and Full tunes will go through their state-of-the-art industry standard Wintersteiger Mercury and will include:
- Flattening with a linear structure overlaid with a custom gliding finish structure, varying and dependent on snow-condition and ski type. The stone grinder module in the Mercury has infinite structure possibilities all while only removing a very little amount of material based on the condition of the ski or board.
- Sharpening of edges with the dual-ceramic base and side-edge beveller module: this means they can provide exact edge angle geometry at the preciseness of 100th of a degree and customize to the ski or snowboard's model and type. This is a consistent and smooth grinding quality over the entire effective length of your edge.
- Infrared wax application: Hydrates your base much deeper and more consistently than an iron or hot box, which keeps you gliding smooth and protects your base from abrasion for far longer.
A better edge means better carving, faster progression, and more fun! Just like bikes, regular tunes don't just maximize your time on the slopes but can extend your equipment's usable lifetime by several years. Protect your investment!
